World Environment Day 5th June 2010 will witness the replanting of a bird reserve on Jalan Bunga Matahari,
Jalan Tuaran Km 2, Likas, Kota Kinabalu Sabah Malaysia. The Green Connection and friends are replanting an area
after a new drain was created. Trees from Forestry, Yayaasan Biotech and the Green connection will be used to
make this a habitat for birds and other city living wildlife. Planting the trees and bushes will be good
for the wildlife in the area but planting trees also helps offset air pollution.
As they grow, trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air. This project is but a tiny step to counteract global climate change,
but every tree matters.
